International Women’s Day : MAJAN President, Ray Ugochukwu Prides Nigerian Women

The President, Maritime Journalists Association of Nigeria (MAJAN), has prided Women in Nigeria and diaspora on the occasion of International Women’s Day (IWD) celebration taking place today globally.

Ugochukwu gave his congratulatory message in a press statement released on MAJAN platform today.

The MAJAN President, who is highly gender sensitive, described women as good administrators in public offices and within the families.

Further on, Ugochukwu urged the Nigerian government to encourage more women participation in governance and political affairs of the country.

Continuing, the MAJAN President described International Women’s Day celebration as a well thought-out occasion meant to honour women for their tremendous contributions to national development.

According to him, many Nigerian women have excelled in their various careers and should be commended for their steadfastness and resilience.

He called on government to create a level playing ground for more women to thrive in entrepreneurship.

“Women are very special people in the society. They are our daughters, sisters and mothers. So, we use this special occasion to honour and rejoice with them”, he said.
