Hospital Patients Benefit from CLEDD’s Humanitarian Support

A health response package running into hundreds of thousands of naira for the most vulnerable in society, has been disbursed on behalf of various beneficiaries by CLEDD Nigeria Limited.

Ostensibly undertaken in a bid to bring succour and offer financial reliefs to some of the very needy in society, the oil and gas industry operator has picked up maternity and other hospital bills of scores of patients who were on admission in some of the public medical facilities located in the state.

And focusing on benefitting the financially distressed and most hard pressed in society, the Chairman/ CEO of CLEDD Nigeria Limited, Chief Charles Ukoette has said the gesture is the firm’s way of expressing its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to society.

He stressed the gesture was an outreach to assisting the poorest of the poor as well as the very sick but indigent persons in need of assistance. Hundreds of thousands of naira is however, committed to the outreach.

” Most people out there, especially those in our  public hospitals are hoping and waiting for an opportunity of help. This is where we came in”, he said.

Describing the gesture as a Medical Assistance Scheme (MAS) deployed in the aid of medically sick and indigent, Ukoette, represented by his General Manager, Operations, Mr. Kingsley Udo, said: “This has been a quarterly exercise. It is a scheme targeted at the very needy in some of our public hospitals.”

” In a way, this is CLEDD’s response package to meeting the critical needs of the sick and needy in our midst”, he further explained.

A breakdown of the beneficiaries indicates that more than 43 persons have been favoured by the medical bill relief and drawn from various public hospitals including Saint Luke Hospital, Anua, Uyo, and Methodist General Hospital, Ituk Mbang, Uruan.

More beneficiaries, it has been established, would be added to the  stream, when the outreach moves to Ibeno, operational base of the initiator of the lofty humanitarian scheme.
