Bids farewell to Retiring DC Edime

It was all eulogies for
Isah Sulaiman at a Send forth ceremony organised by the Seme Customs Command for two distinguished officers of the Command, DC Edime who is retiring and CSC Isah Sulaiman who has been redeployed to Apapa Customs Area Command.The Ceremony Which took place yesterday, at the Senior officers Mess Seme Customs Command, had the Area Controller, Comptroller Wale Adenuga who spoke glowingly of the two officers, especially the outgoing Public Relations Officer, CSC Isah Sulaiman.
Adenuga revealed that he enjoyed working with Isah Sulaiman, adding that he was very sure that Sulaiman would succeed wherever he goes because of his personality and professionalism. He praised Sulaiman for his organisational skills. Adenuga lauded Sulaiman for his industry and strict adherence to duty within the short period they worked together.
He thanked everyone for coming to honour these Officers, retiring DC Edime and redeploying CSC Isah Sulaiman. He thanked DC Edime for serving meritoriously and advised him to keep busy because retirement is not a death sentence.
Other Heads of Military and Paramilitary present at the event, while praising Sulaiman as he is redeploying to the Apapa Customs Command said, he has within his time at Seme served the Customs service with distinction, unwavering commitment. According to them, Sulaiman deepened engagement with Stakeholders with his attitude, humbleness, professionalism, his success, they chorused, is rooted in his dedication to the Service, he brings out what an Image Maker should be and reflects the Service. They wished him well and asked him to “go in the power of the might” and Excel in his new posting.
Also on hand to lend their thoughts on the image maker were a few Journalists, who also agreed that Sulaiman is kind to a fault. They also noted that he’s a journalist delight any day and that he puts finesse in whatever he does.
First to respond was the retiring DC Edime, who thanked the CAC for deeming it proper to organise a party for them. He said he was glad he was retiring at a time when he was still young and healthy. Confirmed that retirement was not as terrible as people think, if one has a plan in place.
On his part, Sulaiman’s response was laden with emotion. According to him, he never expected his boss to organise a party in his honour, ” this type of honour is always reserved for senior officers from CAC rank, not me, a CSC.” He stated that he was privileged to serve under CAC Adenuga, he praised his boss for creating the room for officers to excel. He thanked the CAC and all heads of Military and Paramilitary Security Agencies, all stakeholders and Journalists for their kind words and prayers.” I’m very humbled to be celebrated,” Sulaiman said.
The highlight of the occasion was the presentation of an award for meritorious service and dedication to duty to the duo of DC Edime and CSC Isah Sulaiman by Comptroller Wale Adenuga.
