No serious damages was recorded following the early hours fire which gutted the 6th floor wing of the Nigeria Ports Authority yesterday.
The fire incident which was suspected to have been started by an electrical surge affected one office and other adjoining office on the same wing damaging 2 desk tops ,tables ,chairs and other furniture.
As a result of the incident,activities at the Headquarters were temporarily disrupted.
However normalcy has since been restored as men of the Authorities fire service and the security department ensured the situation was brought under control.
Meanwhile, the Management of the Authority has commended the prompt response and professionalism of its fire service and security
department in containing the fire.
General Manager Corporate and Strategic Communications,Olaseni Alakija has assured stakeholders that normalcy has been restored and no sensitive documents were lost in the incident and operations not disrupted.
