The Founder, BoT Chairman and Spiritual Leader, New Nigeria Peoples’ Party (NNPP) Dr Boniface Okechukwu Aniebonam has called on all stakeholders in the Maritime Business, transportation, Logistics, Importers as well as Freight forwarding practitioners and all Agencies of government in the Maritime industry to rally round the NNPP Presidential candidate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and ensure that he is duly elected to sort out all knotty issues in the industry.
Speaking to Journalists today at the Rockview Hotel in Apapa, Dr Aniebonam said, that “the Maritime industry needs to understand that NNPP is our own and if we want to unbundle ourselves from the slavery in our industry, then this is the opportunity for us to elect our own to enable us resolve our constraints. I therefore urge you all to go out enmass to vote Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso as the President of Nigeria.”
Speaking further, he stated that the multiparty system in Nigeria has created an opportunity for people to take advantage of the polity and make things happen, “we need to move out enmass and work towards emancipating Nigerians through the NNPP and its presidential candidate, Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso. Importers, Exporters, Customs and other government Agencies must understand that NNPP has its roots in the Maritime industry and would be most beneficial to those in this industry,” he said.
The Founder explained that the NNPP is a very old political party and that it took 20yrs for it to get an unblemished character in the mould of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso as its presidential candidate and as he puts it, “we must take advantage of this, his entrance has changed the political narrative in Nigeria as we speak. There is system collapse in every sector you turn, there’s an issue of a brewing revolution, people are clamouring to take back their country, things are not working well. This is where the NNPP and Kwankwaso come in, he is a man of courage, a man with the political will to right the wrongs in the Maritime industry and the entire Nigeria. Kwankwaso if elected, will ensure that many other ports are opened up: the warri port, the Calabar port will be made to function optimally, the Onitsha River port and other river ports will be opened up among other existing ports.”
Continuing he said Kwankwaso is aware of other myriads of problems bedeviling the Maritime industry as a Maritime person himself and will not be hesitant in expediting action to resolve all; granting of partial autonomy to Nigeria Customs Service, establishment of Customs Service Commission and the appointment of the Comptroller General of Customs from within Customs Carrier officers. Others are opening of Nigerian borders for cross border trade and transportation, removal of Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding (CRFFN) from the clutches of the transportation ministry to be partially autonomous in line with the Act amongst others,” Dr Aniebonam stated.
