Nagaff 100 Percent Compliance Team Rejects Arbitrary Increment In Terminal Charges
… demands immediate reversal
By Jerry Aguigbo
The Nagaff 100 percent Compliance Team has rejected in its entirety the sudden and arbitrary increase in terminal charges with over 650 percent. The Compliance Team described this sudden increment by Terminal Operators as an ambush, vowing to resist this move if it’s not reversed.
Speaking with Journalists in Apapa yesterday, the National Coordinator 100 percent Compliance Team Nagaff, Alh. Ibrahim Tanko stated, “we have taken note of the sudden and arbitrary increment in terminal charges by Terminal Operators. Granted they are facing serious challenges with the economy, we are however constrained to reject the arbitrary increase.
Giving reasons why the Compliance Team is rejecting the increment, Tanko said that one of the reasons is the suddeness of the ambush. The other reason he mentioned is that the increment is way too high; over 650 percent.
Rising from this however, Tanko demanded for an immediate reversal to status quo, he also called on the Terminal Operators to engage seriously with Stakeholders to agree on a middle ground or compromise.
The National Coordinator however warned that failure to adhere to these demands to arrive at a compromise may leave Freight Forwarders no choice but “lead to resort to the last option.”
