The President, Maritime Journalists Association of Nigeria (MAJAN), Comrade Ray Ugochukwu, has congratulated Hadiza Bala Usman, on her reappointment as the Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), for a second term of five years.
Comrade Ugochukwu, who is a seasoned Journalists and Editor-in-chief of the Powerful Pen Newspaper, described her reappointment as an honour well deserved.
, Her reappointment, he said, “will ensure continuity in policies implementation geared towards the development of the port industry in Nigeria.
According to Ugochukwu, the perennial traffic gridlock on ports access roads is one of the major tasks before NPA.
Continuing, the MAJAN President called on port users and relevant stakeholders in the maritime industry to support NPA in ensuring that the port industry is well re-positioned for greater productivity.
“As a regulatory Agency in the maritime industry, NPA is saddled with enormous tasks and stakeholders must work in synergy with the Authority to move the industry forward,” he stated.
The NPA boss who had a stint with the Bureau for Public Enterprises has become a cult figure with many Nigerians, since arriving at the NPA five years ago.
