Kitack Lim Commissions New NIMASA Head Office

The Secretary General of IMO, Kitack Lim has commissioned the new NIMASA office edifice at Adetokunbo Ademola street, Victoria Island, Lagos.
While commissioning the edifice, the IMO Secondary General noted that human competency is an important element to growth and having a work environment which guarantees that workers put in their best, is a plus.
Kitack Lim lauded the Minister of transportation, Hon. Mu’azu Jaji Sambo for leading the line excellently.
“You are an extraordinarily Super-excellent Minister, you are leading by example”, he commended.
Speaking further, Lim praised the DG NIMASA, Dr Bashir Jamoh for his exceptional leadership qualities and super skill.
” I am more than impressed with what I have seen so far and I’m confidently looking forward to more developments in Nigeria’s Maritime sector”, he enthused.
On his part, the Transport Minister, Hon. Mu’azu Jaji Sambo expressed gratitude to Mr Lim for visiting to see first hand the transformation ravaging the transportation ministry, with Agencies like NIMASA, NPA and others taking the lead.
He promised ensure that all developmental strides are done in line with IMO regulations.
On her part, the permanent Secretary,Ministry of transport, Dr Magdalene Ajani congratulated Jamoh and the entire workforce of NIMASA for achieving this feat. While also stating that with this level of development, “we can only look forward to maximum work productivity and in a short while the entire West African region will be transformed by your impact”.
Also speaking, the Chairman House Committee on Maritime safety, Education and Administration, Dr Lynda Ikpeazu applauded the Kitack Lim for visiting but asked for more support from the IMO.
“We thank the Secretary General IMO for coming, however, I need to say that Nigeria needs more support from the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
DG NIMASA has done a wonderful job steering the ship of this bourgeoning Agency and he should be encouraged even with the level of work done already”, she charged.
Responding, DG NIMASA, Dr Bashir Jamoh appreciated all for their kind words and gestures, particularly the IMO Secretary General His Excellency Kitack Lim for honouring his promise to visit Nigeria.
“I am particularly pleased to welcome Kitack Lim to Nigeria, the last visit of any of the past IMO Secretary General was 15 years ago but Lim has honoured his words and I am particularly delighted that he is commissioning this building today.
We dedicated the entire 2022 as project year and we have more than 10 projects to be commissioned. 6 skill acquisition centres in the 6 geopolitical zones of Nigeria. Another 6 Maritime institutions for the 6 geopolitical zones that make up the country”, Jamoh revealed.
The entire workforce of NIMASA is expected to start relocating to the new building within the next few months, the DG disclosed.
