The Ag. Comptroller -General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Wale Adeniyi met with Maritime Journalists last night at Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos. In a brief remark during the dinner, the CGC assured Journalists of his unalloyed commitment and support, while pledging an open door policy, he urged them to do all in their powers to ensure he succeeded.

In his words, “it will be a Sweet Story if I run this race well but it will be a collective failure if I fail,” he emphasised.

CGC Adeniyi said that he only came to report himself to his constituency and long time friends, to inform all of the new task he has been given.

In response, Jacob Idinye and Timothy Okorocha who spoke on behalf of
Maritime Journalists pledged their support to the new CGC.
According to them, it has been 8 years of long suffering under the previous Customs administration and it’s a breath of fresh air that a new Customs Controller – General, in the mould of Wale Adeniyi, a friend of Journalists is now on the saddle. They were enthusiastic that he will succeed without doubt.
