The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) yesterday commissioned the Apapa Local Government rehabilitated 2.4 million per day Mini Water Works as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility programme. The Mini Water works is located at the Liverpool area of the local government .
The Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Mohammed Bello- Koko has taken this step as part of NPA’s Corporate Responsibility (CSR).
The Apapa local government is regarded by many as the most lucrative local government not only in Nigeria but in West Africa, according to the Executive Chairman of the LGA, Hon. Idowu Adejumoke. Who however said the LG is lacking in so many things including access to good drinking water, good roads, amongst others, even as lucrative businesses are replete in the local government.
Apapa is home to the Nigerian Ports,Authority, NIMASA, Nigerian Shippers’ Council ,and so many private companies and organisations, yet the local government according to its Chairman, wallow in lack and depravity, while development is not commensurate with these businesses which make their earnings in Apapa.
