Founder of the National Association Of Government Approved Freight Forwarders [NAGAFF], Dr. Boniface Okechcukwu Aniebonam, has tasked the registered Board of Trustees and all elders of the Association Of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), who have been on a war part with the Iju Tony Nwabunike led National Executive Council to give peace a chance and allow the younger members of the association to thrive and grow. Aniebonam who made this comment Thursday, at the commissioning ceremony of the Secreteriat of the Maritime Journalists Association of Nigeria (MAJAN).
. Aniebonam who was obviously miffed with recent happenings in ANLCA, especially with the shenanigans perpetrated by the outgone BoT, noted that the crisis in ANLCA is affecting Nagaff.
According to him, ” the crisis in ANLCA is affecting Nagaff, one cannot work without the other. All these elders should allow the young ones to work.
Anyway, what is this Board, why is the BoT distabilizing ANLCA,” Aniebonam queried.
Continuing, he lamented that the crisis presently engulfing ANLCA is not necessary.
“ I am not happy with the problem our sister Association is having, we must be seen to be building bridges not burning them,” he stressed.
He called on the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), to run enlightenment campaigns to educate Maritime practicioners on the dangers of hard drugs and a way of knowing the different types of illicit drugs being shipped into our ports. Adding
that you cannot raise alarm on what you don’t know.
The Founder Nagaff was later conferred with the prestigious Award of “Freight Forwarder General of Nigeria” by MAJAN. Receiving the award, Dr Aniebonam lauded MAJAN leadership for the honour done him and charged Journalists to toe the part of investigative journalism to make headway.
“,You must report the industry to add value, while you must not also forget to make money to take care of yourself and family. Investigative journalism is the key to the success of journalism, do your work and allow others to make judgement,” he said.
On his own part, the President MAJAN, Ray Ugochukwu thanked Dr Boniface Aniebonam for always being there for MAJAN and other Journalists, “our gratitude to you is something words cannot express, your benevolence to MAJAN knows no bounds, we can only pray for God to reward you,” Ugochukwu said.
The award of Freight Forwarder General of Nigeria to Dr Aniebonam stems from his doggedness to change the trend of Freight Forwarding Practice in Nigeria through advocacy, using Nagaff.
Also speaking at the event, the National Secretary ANLCA, Alh. Abdulazeez Babatunde Mukaila praised MAJAN for ensuring they have a befitting Secreteriat, he promised to work with MAJAN to make the place more comfortable.
While also lending her voice, the National Welfare Secretary of ANLCA, Hajia Bola Muse congratulated the association for having a calling point, according to her, this is a landmark event and the beginning of new things to come.
