By Jerry Aguigbo

The leadership of the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP has graciously accepted the resignation of the erstwhile National Chairman of the party, Alh. Abbah Kawu. Who was described as a factional leader, even as his tenure expired three Months after his appointment but stayed on due to internal wrangling, misunderstanding and seeming crisis that engulfed the party. Hence Alh. Abbah Kawu was seen to have overstayed his welcome as the interim national Chairman of NNPP in cohut with the faction led by Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, even as his appointment was never ratified by the party’s National Convention. In other words, his continuous stay as the party chairman was alleged to have contravened the constitutional provisions of the party. Meaning that any decision taken under his leadership cannot stand.

In a statement from the NNPP, signed by Chairman Board of Trustees, Dr TKO Aluko, The former flag bearer and presidential candidate of NNPP in the last election, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso was advised to seek ways to realign with the Spiritual Leader and Founder of the NNPP, Dr. Boniface Aniebonam who made him the party’s flag bearer on a platter of gold. Kwankwaso was charged to sort out things with the founder in the interest of all elected members of the Senate, Federal House of Representatives, the Governor and members of the State Assembly and indeed, all members of the party. He was also advised in his own interest to cut ties with political ‘Job men ‘ like Elder Buba Galadima whose political approach is obsolete and misleading, to say the least.

Members of NNPP were also urged in the same breath to remain focused, be calm and not lose hope in the party as things will be sorted out with faith in God.
