Customs CSR Brings Life Back To Methodist Primary School Ibeshe, After 104 years Comatose

The Nigeria Customs Service under CGC Wale Adeniyi has been breaking barriers in so many spheres, signposting Nigeria in the world stage with the Chairmanship of the World Customs Organisation. Revenue remittances to the federation account have also been humongous to say the least. Before now not so much was heard of the Customs Corporate Social Responsibility project (CSR) , Customs Care.
However under the guidance of CGC Wale Adeniyi the Customs CSR project has wowed everyone. With very meaningful projects undertaken in different states of the federation to impact and improve the lives of the people, especially providing health care to some communities, renovating and in so many cases, rebuilding schools which have been dilapidated and in a state of disuse for years. They have also provided pipe borne water along the line, with solar panels to provide electricity for health facilities and school infrastructures.
Like Sagbokoji in Amuo- Odifin , Christ the King primary school in Ajegunle, the Methodist Primary School Ibeshe, Ikorodu founded in1922 became the latest beneficiary of the Adeniyi led Customs CSR magnanimity which ensured it rewrote the history of the School which was established exactly 104 years ago, fully renovating its Class room blocks.
When Todaynews got there, on Wednesday, 11th February, 2026, the school was wearing a brown new look with the fence fully raised, toilet facilities provided and the pupils could only be happy with the CG for providing them learning kits like exercise books, pencils, school sandals and school bags.
Speaking at the official commissioning of the newly renovated Methodist Primary School Ibeshe, Adeniyi stated that this effort marks the fulfilment of Customs promise, in compliance with the United Nations’ SGD Goals. He Commended the choice of Methodist Primary School as he said that he was happy they picked wisely. According to him, “it’s very gratifying not only as the CGC but to the Community.
The visibly happy Adeniyi thanked Comptroller A .Y Odunsanya (Rtd.) who started the project. He also thanked Controller S.O Ariyibi for undertaking the completion of the CSR for the school. “There are other projects that the NCS is handling, this school is one of the projects.” He called on the pupils to excel and move to acquire higher education so that in no distant time they will also come back here to help their school.
” This is not the end of it, we have our follow-up mechanism and from time to time, we will come here without notice to see if what we have done is maintained or left dilapidated.
Adeniyi thanked the traditional rulers, the Oba and his Chiefs , the education Board, the school management and the Teachers for supporting this effort.
Speaking earlier, ACG Zone A’, Mohammed Babandede said a society that craves for a solid foundation and a successful education, is on a successful tract with a CGC that supports and cares.
